This course is carved out of natural marshlands and uses other parts of the natural terrain for many hazards. Three of the four par 3's ask you to carry your tee shot from one marsh area to another. There are more than 1.5 miles of bridges to cross, and some rare varieties of wildlife can be seen. The wind from off the ocean will usually affect your game, making proper club selection a must. Charleston National also features the American Tour School, a golf school offering lessons one hour in length all the way upto 12 weeks long. American Tour School also has a Technology Center opening in November that boasts Swing Solutions, Computer Golf Coach, a Putting Monitor, Ball Flight Monitor, Swing Motion Trainer and will have custom club building on-site.
