Nicklaus Golf Course at Colleton River Plantation Club DescriptionOf the Nicklaus course, Greg Norman once said this course is the best layout Jack Nicklaus ever built. The design includes tree-lined fairways, water hazards and marshlands that come into play on twelve holes. The signature hole is #16, a 437-yard, par 4, which plays toward the Colleton River. "GOLF Magazine" named it 99th in the category of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, and 83rd in 1997 and 95th in 1999. "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 46th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, 62nd for 1998 and 67th for 1999. The Par 3 Course is great for beginners.
