South Golf Course at Country Club of Scranton, The Info

This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. These are very difficult courses, however, water hazards only come into play on three of the twenty-seven holes. The greens are well manicured and extremely fast. The fairways are very hilly and narrow, so don't expect many level lies. The North Course has one pond that comes into play on two holes. The fairways are somewhat hilly, but fairly open and separated by rock walls. The Old Course has large trees defining the fairways and one pond that comes into play on hole #8. There are greenside bunkers on every hole except one. The South Course has no water on the course, however it is heavily bunkered. This course has tree-lined fairways that are mostly flat, but there is some mounding that can cause uneven lies. The signature hole for the South Course is #9, a 482-yard, par 5, requiring uphill shots all the way to the green. Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva redesigned the original eighteen holes
