This facility, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Gold Medal Resorts," features three eighteen hole courses that were built by well-known designers. The East and West courses are near the resort and are similar in design. Both of these courses are fairly open, with large trees that can alter your shots, and putting greens that can be difficult to read. The original Donald Ross design was split up among the East and West courses. Jack Nicklaus clinched the 1959 U.S. Amateur on hole #18, which is now #15 on the East Course. Annika Sorenstam won the 1995 U.S. Open on the East Course. "Golf Digest" rated the East Course 2nd and the West Course 6th among the "Best Public Course's" in the state for 1996. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" rated the East Course 67th best under the 1998 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." "Golf for Women" rated the same course 5th best of "America's Best Women-Friendly Courses."
